James Johannes is a seasoned soccer coach with a deep-rooted connection to the Quad Cities.  A graduate of Alleman Catholic High School in 2004, James’s coaching journey began on the fields where he once played as a student. His coaching career took off as the Boys Junior Varsity Head Coach at Alleman High School right after graduation.

Over the years, James has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to developing young talent and fostering team spirit. He served as the Head Coach for Quad Cities United and then took on roles at Rock Island High School, coaching both boys and girl's junior varsity teams. His tenure as Boys Varsity Head Coach at Alleman High School solidified his reputation as a dedicated and skilled leader.

Since 2014, James has been a Head Coach for many boys’ and girls’ teams at Quad Cities Rush. Additionally, his role as Head Coach for Iowa ODP since 2019 highlights his expertise and influence in the broader soccer community. James’s credentials, including USSF National C and Level 1 Goalkeeping certifications, underscore his commitment to continuous professional development and excellence in coaching.

James’s appointment as the new high school boys’ soccer coach for Quad Cities Rush is a testament to his dedication to the local soccer scene and his ongoing mission to nurture the next generation of soccer talent.

Colleen Rumpza grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and attended Xavier High School, where she was fortunate to win four state soccer titles. She went on to play soccer at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN, receiving multiple honors throughout her career:

  • NCAA Woman of the Year, Top 30 Honoree, 2014
  • NSCAA All-American, 1st Team, 2013
  • MIAC Co-Conference Player of the Year, 2011
  • MIAC Academic All-Conference, 2013, 2012, 2011

Colleen helped guide St. Benedict to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2011 and to conference championships in 2011 and 2013.

Colleen began her coaching career at Prairie Soccer Club in Cedar Rapids while attending the University of Iowa for a doctorate in physical therapy. She joined QC Rush in 2017, when it was formerly known as Moline United. Along with coaching, Colleen served as co-chair of the Rush College Advisory Program and played on the Rush WPSL team for two seasons. Colleen holds a US Soccer “E” license.

Outside of soccer, Colleen works as the clinic manager for Rock Valley Physical Therapy in Rock Island, IL. She lives in Bettendorf with her husband, Justin, and their dog, Roscoe.

Regan Baker grew up in Grinnell, Iowa, where he played four years of varsity soccer and was a starter during the only two seasons the school qualified for the Iowa State Tournament. He attended Coe College for two years before transferring to Central College, where he graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies and a minor in Sociology. He spent a total of three years playing Division III soccer for Coe College (two years) and Central College (one year).

Regan joined the Quad Cities Rush coaching staff this past fall, coaching the U14-15 boys' team and assisting with the U13 boys' team. He continued to coach the U13-15 boys' squads this past spring and plans to continue coaching with the club at multiple levels. He is excited to share his knowledge and college experience to help the club's athletes with their college search and recruitment process.
