Adding a player mid-season
Quad Cities Rush holds open tryouts in June of each year. Teams are formed after tryouts, but from time to time a roster spot is available in that can be filled at a coach discretion. Generally, players are not added mid-season, but some exceptions apply. Below is the protocol that must be followed to ensure compliance with recruiting rules, club registration and state player carding.
1. Prospective Players should be directed to the player interest form on our website. Send everyone through the website under contact us. Here is the link:
2.You should assume all players are carded at this point. You may not discuss or recruit carded players to switch clubs. Be very careful and be sure you understand the league rules.
2a. Receipt of player interest by Rush will be evaluated by DOC. If player is with another club they will be requested to provide a copy of a release from their club. There are rules about being in good standing to be released.
2b. Verification of free agent status with league registrar may be required.
3. Once received, player interest forms will be reviewed by club administration and may be forwarded to the age group head coach if appropriate.
4. Age group Coach may conduct an evaluation and coach discretion now if they want to add a player. Be aware of roster limits.
5. Coach must email DOC and ADOC that new player has been selected to be added.
6. Club administration will respond to the Player Interest Form and direct the parent to register for tryouts on
www.quadcitiesrush.com.
7. Player will be added to the team and will be offered a roster spot via email.
8. Parent must accept roster email and register for the season to proceed.
9. Completed registration will be sent to Club Registrar for carding and uniform.
9a. NO player may be added until registration is complete. Club administration will notify the Registrar.
9b. Coaches may not go directly to the Registrar for cards.
9c. Players will not be added mid-week. Expect this process to take 7 days.
10. Coach will be notified of approval and carded by Registrar.
11. No shortcuts to the procedure. Players have to be properly registered before the Registrar will produce the card.
